Stone Lodges are 13 private residences spread across a 13-acre forested hillside in Wayanad. Situated on secluded estates that are almost an acre in size, each 7000 square foot residence intertwines harmoniously with the mountain in three distinct levels and blends seamlessly into the natural landscape.

INSPIRED BY THE MOUNTAINS

Bespeaking the grammar of Mountain Lodges and the native design aesthetic, Stone Lodges are hidden amongst dense foliage and designed with unique elements. Every bit is finely nuanced bespeaking a luxurious yet environmentally responsible aesthetic - A Collectible that ages graciously!

WAYANAD, HEAVEN UNEARTHED

Wayanad is less of a place and more of an emotion to be experienced. of rock and tree serenading each other, of meandering stream and the presence of nature in every square foot. As we soaked in the spirit of the land, the sketch of a community grew organically in our imagination. The result is a set of soulful private residences that co-opt their immediate environment into their construct.

A SECOND LIFE

There is now, more than ever, a need for balance and a longing for humans to reconnect with nature - A longing fulfilled by the establishment of a Second home in the lap of nature and a place to nurture one’s hobbies like Photography, Farming, Gardening, Birding, Trekking and more.

Natural Life is about re-establishing the connection between oneself and the natural environment - A relationship that our modern, urban centric lifestyles have severed. Experience the sweet songs of nature and the joy of being able to taste a fruit fresh off the tree at your own secluded habitat.

THREE LEVELS OF HARMONY

Enveloped by the grand natural contours and the sloping hillside, each private residence is perched on three levels and opens its doors to the mystic woodlands. Guided by the natural slope of the earth, the architecture blends seamlessly into the natural landscape with an endless, unobstructed view from every deck.

THE LIVING

The inclusive design of the Living creates a substantial, yet intimate space which bespeaks rustic chic in every inch, allowing one to savor the essence of the woods without stepping out. Characterized by a stone feature wall, the expansive living follows the open concept without compromising on privacy. The Viewing Deck with stone flooring invites the natural elements of the outdoors, indoors.

THE MASTERFUL BEDROOM

A private retreat within the larger sanctuary, the master bedroom is an opulent ode to tranquility and calm. Designed to be one with nature, a private deck or balcony adjoining the space provides a stunning view of the surrounding wilderness.

SIGNATURE COURTYARD BATH

Our Private Residences feature signature courtyard Baths with verdant green foliage. The shower reveals the freedom of bathing beneath an open sky amidst the lush green courtyard with existing trees and boulders. The interplay of light and shadow is brought about by the Eucalyptus poles on the ceiling, with their natural oils and distinct texture.

INFINITY POOL AND LILY POND

Surrounded by the eco systemic lily ponds, the infinity pool offers a meditative soak in the natural atmosphere. Along the deck is a Gazebo and Outdoor Dining space where the infinity pool and lily pond blend seamlessly into nature, far and beyond.

THE BRIDGE

A walk through the unique ‘Bridge’ unfolds a mystical journey from one level of the Private Residence to the other. The grandeur of the walkway is complemented by the high glass joinery. With light pouring across the entire stretch, the walk from one level to the next is an immersive experience with no visual barriers.

PRESERVING THE PURITY OF NATURE

UNDISTURBED CONSTRUCTION

When the residence comes in the way of a tree or boulder, the design is modified to go around the existing tree or boulder and accommodate it to be a part of the natural design. Thus the existing flora and natural features on the site play their part in enhancing carefully designed living experiences.

SUSTAINABILITY AND CONSERVATION

BIRD FRIENDLY LANDSCAPE

With the break of dawn, the enchanting sounds of the chirping birds at one’s doorstep adds vibrance and joy to the serene setting. The integration of prolific fruit trees and bird baths, invite the passerines to coexist amongst the residents luxuriating the birding experience.

A STORY IN EVERY PIECE

Keeping sustainability in mind, upcycled wood from construction is crafted into switchboards, skirting, knobs, joinery and cloth hangers. The wood is intentionally left unfinished to accentuate its live edge that ages gracefully overtime.

BUTTERFLY FRIENDLY PLANTS

The verdure of tropical luxuriance is complemented by the colourful wings of the indigenous butterflies. Attracted by carefully selected native plants and butterfly friendly landscape measure, they grace the garden with their manoeuvre.

APICULTURE

Conservation of the most important species of native bees – Apis Cerena is at utmost importance at Stone Lodges. Our man-made bee hives facilitate in educating the guests about the need for conservation of these busy creatures and their importance in pollination while blessing us with the oldest known sweetener!
